River Tones: An Interactive Sound Walk in collaboration with “guerilla classics”

Saturday, August 30, 2025 / 11:00 – 13:00
Wehrenbach, meeting point: Migros “Burgwies”, 8032 Zürich
Registration: Eventbrite

A sonic walk along the Wehrenbach with musician Andres Bosshard, artist and flutist Melody Chua, and voice artist Constanza Pellicci. Sound and movement merge into a fleeting fabric of stories, tones, and water. Chua weaves delicate flute lines through the riverscape, while Pellicci responds to the flow with voice and breath – whispering, humming, like an echo of the current. Bosshard guides the act of listening, sharing stories of the river and tuning into its swirling eddies. This walk invites participants to rediscover the river through the soundscape. Impressions and experiences from the walk will contribute to a collective glossary entry as part of the River Landscapes project.

In case of bad weather, the workshop will take place on Sunday, August 31.

Drawing with Rivers

Saturday, September 27, 2025 / 14:00 – 17:00
Kloster Fahr
Registration: Eventbrite

Drawing is a form of observing, remembering, situating and imagining. The workshop Drawing with Rivers engages with the river Limmat, its past, current and future riverbed, ways of water, and sediments as drawing lines. Together, we use drawing as a method to visit the river’s past, meandering through the valley, and imagine its future course. Inspired by river cartographers both historic and contemporary we will use drawing as a means of imagining, futuring and narrating.  Using water, ink and river sediments, the participants create a collective, speculative drawing collection. Impressions and experiences from the walk will contribute to a collective glossary entry as part of the River Landscapes project.

River Flows

Sunday, October 19, 2025 / 14:00 – 17:00
Kloster Fahr
Registration: Eventbrite

In this transdisciplinary workshop, we will immerse ourselves physically and narratively in the world of rivers. Between landscape exploration, movement and speculative writing, we will explore how water as a flowing force affects the human body – and how movements and myths intertwine. Based on Swiss water myths and contemporary perspectives on water as a resource, we create sensual, moving approaches to the environment. Stories are embodied, movements are narrated. Forgotten folk tales and collective writing create a space in which water is not just an element, but rather a carrier of experience.
